EU call: Pilot projects and preparatory actions for 2020 in the field of sport

The EU Work Plan for Sport (2017-2020) is a medium-term strategy for European sports policy. The general objectives of the plan are:

  • integrity together with emphasis on good governance, protection of minors, fight against match-fixing, doping and corruption 
  • the economic dimension of innovation in sport and sport and the digital single market 
  • sport and society, in particular social inclusion, the role of coaches, the media, the environment, health, education and sports diplomacy

The conclusions of the EU Council in the field of sport are adopted during Council meetings, usually once every six months, are of a non-legislative nature and determine the direction and priorities of European sports policy.
